July housing sales in Alexandria’s zip code 22301 - the Del Ray neighborhood – are contrary to those in most of the metro area.
Specifically, in July 2009, the number of houses sold compared to July 2008 was down from 21 to 13, BUT, the average price was UP from $675, 955 to $725, 885.
